Aspen Ladd
Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports when she was 14 years old. She was trained in boxing, kickboxing wrestling and BJJ before making her debut as an amateur at the age of 18, at WCFC against Jaimee Nievera. Ladd became more confident after this win and won 3 fights at Ultimate Reno Combat. Her opponents all fell in the 1st round. After that, she went to WCFC for the second time and defeated Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen won against Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia was defeated by Aspen with a majority vote. It left a blemish on Ladd's amateur record. Ladd was victorious in her subsequent fight with Roma Pawelek to improve to a record of 8-1. Aspen began her professional career in 2015 after signing to Invicta FC. Invicta 11, she was able to dominate Ana Carolina Vidal to score a TKO in the first round. Invicta 16, she was able to go up to Bantamweight after winning her fight with Amanda Cooper by armbar in the second round. Aspen employed the strong abilities she acquired in wrestling to defeat McGill. Aspen ended the fight with a TKO (3rd round) (elbows as well as punches). Aspen continued to face Jessica Hoy for Invicta FC18 at a catchweight at 138.1lb. Ladd was not capable of achieving the weight but Aspen took the victory and defeated Hoy by TKO. Invicta FC 28 was her last bout for the organization. Invicta FC 22 saw Sijara Eubanks be defeated in a unanimous verdict. Aspen Ladd debuted in the UFC in the 118th UFC Fight Night 118, against Lina Langsberg. She outclassed Lina by grounding and pounding her, winning the TKO during the second round. When she next faced Tonya Evinger in UFC 229, her victory was even more stunning. Ladd took on Evinger to the punch in the initial round, and earned a performance of the night bonus. Sijara Eubanks from Invicta FC was her opponent for an rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was Ladd's first big fight. Ladd took home the fight of the night bonus fight after the two fighters engaged in a fierce combat. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie ended Ladd within 16 seconds, breaking her streak of winning. After a break of a few seconds her return to the ring and finished Yana Kunizkaya of the UFC in their ESPN 7 third-round fight. For a rematch she took on Norma Dumont in her most recent UFC fight. Her defeat was decided by unanimous decision.
